Pembina, North Dakota
Pembina (pronounced PEM-bih-naw) is the oldest settlement in the Dakota Territories. It got its name from the Indian words "anepeminan
sipi," meaning high bush cranberries. The neat thing about IT is that
the berries remain on the bush all winter - until someone or some thing
comes along and eats them:
